Worship singing plays a big part in Crossroads Community Church’s corporate worship service.

While worshipping God includes much more than singing, we take joy in the unity and shared offering of making a joyful noise unto the Lord (Psalm 100:2).  We sing using a variety of musical styles ranging from hymns to contemporary praise and worship songs.

Our singing glorifies our God, the Creator, and tells of His great works, and expresses our thankfulness for His work in our own lives (Psalm107:22).  Our worship singing also serves as a unifying and edifying medium for our congregation of believers.  Expressing our love and fear to the Lord as his bride, the church, unites us as his body, and builds us up as we worship together (Ephesians 5:19).

Our goal in worship is to offer God the praise and glory he inherently deserves, to respond to His character and promises which He reveals to us in His word, and to encourage one another to attain a greater understanding and awe of our God, who by His mercy called us to Himself to inherit salvation and the promise of eternal life in Him (Colossians 3:16).

Stylistically, we try to reflect God's diversity and creativity by incorporating all kinds of music and songs. We sing old hymns, modern hymns, praise choruses, and modern worship songs as long as they are biblically and theologically sound; and that the goal of the song is to bring glory to God in Christ through the Spirit!

We use a "worship band" most of the time with acoustic guitars, electric guitars, drums, bass, keyboards, and vocals; but it's not unusual to see a flute, a cello, a violin, a choir, a djembe or cajon as well! We've even borrowed hymnals and had "Hymn Sunday!" God's church has a rich history of singing praises to the Lord, and at Crossroads we want to appreciate that history, as well as explore exciting new ways of offering biblical worship to God.

We do songs by: Sovereign Grace Music, Chris Tomlin, Israel Houghton, Keith and Kristyn Getty, Hillsong Music, Tommy Walker, Resolved Music, Matt Redman, Charlie Hall, David Crowder Band, and others; along with all the great hymn authors of the past.
